Stylish gadget - cargo scooter from Nimble
The Nimble truck electric scooter will be another alternative for transportation this year.
At the Wanted Design Show in New York, smart student projects are presented, including Nimble cargo scooters.
“The idea is to encourage people to get out of their cars,” said Alix Armour, one of the designers who created Nimble. The scooter has a heavy-duty container on the front and is designed to transport goods over short distances.
The Nimble scooter was created by a team of four designers who love cargo bikes but wanted to use something less bulky. After several prototypes, they came up with a model that weighs only 10 kg.
You can certainly use a scooter to transport groceries or stacks of books, but the real potential for Nimble could be in commercial situations. A small scooter can make it easier to move things around in stock and deliveries can even be fun. The scooter cannot travel as far, or as fast, as a bicycle, but it can fit in small spaces and make sharp turns thanks to its patented steering system. Plus, wheels that leave no traces, so the parquet floors are protected from smoking marks.
The cargo scooter has a maximum capacity of 80 to 100 kg. The Nimble has a brake on the rear wheel and the box prevents it from rolling over so you can lean on it without dumping on your load. The cost of such a scooter is only 299 USD on the company’s website.
