Tesla installs the first solar ultrafast charging station in China

American electric car manufacturer Tesla has chosen Hanergy Solar Group as a vendor first solar canopies for a planned network of ultrafast charging stations in China.

Company Hanergy has recently commissioned a solar carports in Beijing and Jiading district of Shanghai. Beijing solar canopy, the canopy is transported which is designed for transportation and Assembly, which employs a flexible thin-film solar modules company Hanergy. Shanghai canopies will be atransferrinemia designs, and will use high-efficiency modules MiaSole from the same company. Company Hanergy is engaged in designing and manufacturing these systems and have already completed the first phase of construction of both solar canopies.

In April Hanergy presented a system for charging a Tesla at an event organized in honor of the first delivery of cars to its Chinese customers in Beijing.

“In the future, Tesla will work with partners to create a network of stations of a superfast charging (Supercharger)”, said at the ceremony, the founder and CEO Elon Musk. “The first charging station in Beijing was built in cooperation with Hanergy Solar Group. Tesla will continue to invest in the construction of a network of superfast charging in China, in order to rapidly expand our network.”

In an interview with Chinese broadcaster CCTV, Elon Musk said that China was one of the key markets for the company and Tesla will make a significant investment in the country, including the attachment system of charging stations. Tesla plans to build seven networks of the stations of a superfast charging, which will be provided round the clock by solar energy. The first charging station appeared in Beijing and Shanghai.

Photovoltaic charging system of the company Hanergy protects trucks on the principle of an ordinary canopy, but performs the conversion of sunlight into electricity using roof surface. At the same time, the system charges the electric vehicle using the energy storage system. The system uses thin-film technology CIGS from the company Hanergy.

“Achieving efficiency at 20.5%, this technology boasts low weight, flexibility, excellent work in low light and advanced technologies,” the company said Hanergy, adding that the installation does not require construction of major structures or the construction of the Foundation, which significantly reduces the cost of the system.

Zhang Qilang (Zhang Qingliang), Vice President of Hanergy Global Solar Power, said: “We are delighted to become a company that will provide Tesla the first batch of solar panels for the network stations of a superfast charging, with the power from the sun in China. As a technology company, Hanergy has been actively exploring ways to use its thin-film photovoltaic technology to build technological solutions through innovation and cross-industrial integration.”

Mr. Kilang also added that Hanergy is working with several domestic and foreign automobile manufacturers as part of the integration of solar technologies, and conducts research in the field of energy storage, photovoltaic car roofs and other applications automotive wing in the field of solar energy.
