The cream will not protect from the harmful sun
Scientists in London and Manchester held the world's first molecular study of the evolution of malignant melanoma.
The results showed that sunscreen allows UV rays to damage the DNA of the skin. Because this tool is not a reliable way to prevent skin cancer, scientists advise not to use sunscreen as the sole method of protection. Dr. Julie sharp said: "People usually think they're invincible once they've applied the cream and, ultimately, spend more time in the sun, increasing the total exposure to ultraviolet rays". According to experts, this remedy can stop sunburn and the short-term effects of sunbathing, but allows the rays of the heavenly bodies to cause fatal disease in the long term.
Study author Richard Marais, University of Manchester: "it is important that this study provides proof that sunscreen does not offer complete protection from the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation". Scientists insist on additional precautions. "This work emphasizes the importance of combining sunscreen with other strategies to protect our skin: wear hats and loose fitting clothing, seek shade when the sun is at its Zenith".
