In Lithuania wind power has reached the "ceiling"

    



Today the maximum capacity of wind power reaches 500 MW, is the amount already distributed on auction. According to the Director of the Association of wind power plants of Lithuania Saulius Piksrys, "ceiling" the capacity of wind power in Lithuania need to raise at least up to 850 MW.

Such power could be achieved by 2018. With an average production efficiency of 35% new wind farms per year would produce of 2.35 TWh, this would amount to 24% of final consumption. With the systematic development for the next year and all you can produce up to 50% consumption of electricity from the wind.

Also, according to the Director of the Association of wind power plants in Lithuania, it is needed to develop wind power at sea: and for this 2015 year you need to determine how you want to hold contests on the exploration of the sea area, until 2018 to comply with the study, and by 2020 — to build wind farms in the Baltic sea.
