The British athlete swims 9,000 miles for the sake of ecology





At the end of 2014, the British swimmer-staer Ben Lecomte swims a record of the distance across the Pacific ocean. Part of the money collected from the broadcast of his athletic feat will be directed to the needs of the environmental organization The Climate Group, involved in the fight against global warming. Ben Lecomte became the first swimmer who without the support crossed the Atlantic ocean. First record, recorded in 1998, he was dedicated to his father and other cancer patients. In this journey of 6 thousand kilometers he was accompanied by only sailing boat that drove from swimmer sharks. Then the Lecomte managed to fit in 73 days.

His new mission is to swim from Tokyo to San Francisco, which Ben had trained more than three years. To participate in the action can be anyone, Ben's financial support on the website IndieGoGo. Part of the funds, except the life of the athlete during travel, will be given to the needs of The Climate Group, which organizes educational programs and events for children on climate change and safe energy alternatives.
