Elon Musk will orbit the first satellite of Turkmenistan

The first satellite of Turkmenistan, developed by the French company Thales Alenia Space will be launched into orbit with the help of American carrier rocket Falcon 9. It looks like SpaceX, owned by Elon musk, gradually begins to win over customers of Russian companies. The launch TurkmenSat1 scheduled for 2015 from the American spaceport Cape Canaveral.

At the moment the territory of Turkmenistan serves Russian satellite "Yamal", owned by "Gazprom space systems". The first national satellite TurkmenSat1 (his second name TurkmenAlem 520E) is scheduled to make an alternative to Russian spacecraft and positioning it in geostationary orbit in the position of the 52 degrees East longitude over the territory of Turkmenistan. After launch, the satellite will broadcast in parts of Europe, Asia and even Africa.

The satellite will transmit not only a television signal. It is also designed to radio and satellite access to the Internet. TurkmenSat1 was created on the basis of satellite platform Spacebus-4000C2, and the contract on its creation with the French company was signed by the Ministry of communications of Turkmenistan in 2011. Initially the launch was scheduled for the fall of 2014, but for unspecified reasons it was postponed for 2015.

After the orbit control of the satellite will take over the National space Agency of Turkmenistan. For these purposes, was built a mission control center in the Akhal velayat (the Central area of the country). The period of active functioning TurkmenSat1 is 15 years. published
