Ecovillage in Denmark - a successful experience in a small eco-friendly state
"Dyssekilde" — ecovillage near Copenhagen — in the 90s a number of volunteers decided to create an environmentally friendly village for vegetarians. The state has gone to meet them, out of curiosity highlighting a good site, expecting to see a commune of hippies and rastamanov, but the project was a success and the whole settlement eventually became economically independent.
To build houses here was initially used straw, larch, unburnt brick or recycled, flax, paper, and even mussel shells. But soon the settlers have become less strict with himself and began to use the most environmentally friendly modern materials. 7 windmills provides more electricity than Dyssekilde can consume — 450 kilowatts, enough to cover the demand of houses in the community 2.5 times. Surplus electricity sold. (In Denmark one fifth of all electricity in the wind.)
Serious attention is paid to the village water community uses 60-65% of water sredneaziatskogo water, thanks to composting toilets and rainwater collection for flushing toilets, washing cars, and watering gardens.
Settlement, literally became a place of family: the population of the village about 118 people, 60 of them children, mostly born here.
The products fall on the table from local farms. In addition, Dyssekilde own to deal with waste. When all the necessary conditions created for comfortable life in the village, a decent portion of the earth Dyssekilde is still intact, here attracting wild animals. Residents of the green zone want to keep the territory intact. Everyone here is busy with his work and has some responsibility for your plot or garden, for example, or livestock. Festivals are held regularly, and between them the settlers do in your free time football or riding for pleasure. Kindergarten on the territory of the settlement is operated by the state. published
P. S. And remember, only by changing their consumption — together we change the world! ©
