Our local scientists are developing a light exoskeleton

Lightweight exoskeleton developed by scientists of the South-West state University (SWSU, Kursk), can replicate the human gait, said on Thursday head of the robotics laboratory of the University Andrey Yatsun. The prototype exoskeleton of the lower extremities for the needs of medicine and science may be on the market in the fall.

Yatsun noted that during preliminary tests of the exoskeleton are taught to repeat human movement — to copy his gait. "We have prepared and tested the measurement version, in order to understand how to remove the human gait, he said. — Work on creation of intellectual control, bioinspirados, which is based on data from real people, with real walks, will manage the exoskeleton".

The scientist added that similar developments are simple mathematical equations, which the wearing of the exoskeleton can be uncomfortable and the device management can be difficult.

According to Acuna, fully-functional prototype will be created in a month, to the end of summer it will experience. In September-October, may appear ready for the market version of the device. The price of the exoskeleton of lower limbs will be 600-700 thousand rubles, and at first it is intended for rehabilitation centers to help people recover motor function. After about six months, the developers plan to get to the end consumer — the elderly and the disabled who have difficulties with walking, and then, in the presence of a larger number of orders, significantly reduce the cost of the devices.

Also in the South-West state University are developing a heavy version of the exoskeleton, which is focused on the army and industrial enterprises. published
