Spanish students have developed a vegetable solar panel

Apostolos Marios Musicopoulos and his classmates from the Institute of advanced architecture of Catalonia has developed a solar panel working on the plants, moss and soil. They say that the rejection of the threat of toxic materials and heavy metals in the production of solar panels can lead to serious improvements in the industry. Students are advised to use special bacteria into tiny fuel cells placed in the ground under roots of plants.

Soil bacteria in this project are used to generate cheap energy in the mini-batteries. Plants planted in the soil, provide life cycle of bacteria, and the water energizes the entire system. Musicopoulos says that his invention can help people in developing countries where there is no permanent access to electricity. Everything you need to build a small solar power plant is a little agricultural equipment and metal parts. Advantage of this system is that it can work even in areas where a little sunlight. Replacing plants, for example, moss, you can make the battery more productive in dark places, as the moss can grow freely in the shade.

In the revolutionary panels there is a bit of electronics that does not contain toxic elements which may in future turn into hazardous waste. The only problem plant plant in its low productivity. Students ask for the help of engineers and biologists to make his invention more useful. Now to provide energy for one house requires a plot of such panels.published
