Now wind farms are able to provide electricity for 6 million households, equivalent to the needs of the whole Paris region.

The syndicate of renewable energies reminded that the task to reach the capacity of 10 000 megawatts was completed three years late. By 2020, France has planned the production in wind power plants 19,000 megawatts.





In recent years, authorities have removed a number of administrative obstacles that hinder the development of wind energy. Last year, the country resumed a scheduled rhythm of growth of the industry: from now on annually to a single grid-connected plants with a total capacity of 1 000 megawatts. Experts, however, noted a significant gap between the French wind energy from Germany: annually increase capacity by 4,000 megawatts.

Now the wind accounts for less than 4 per cent of France's electricity. On a total power of wind farms France ranks 4th in Europe and 8th place in the world. However, production of such energy per capita, the French are still in Europe, only 15-e a place.
