Tokyo-based company Rimono demonstrated a prototype of an unusual mini car with electric propulsion, is designed for operation in urban environments.
The compact electric car has dimensions of only 2200 × 1000 × 1300 mm. It can carry two adults who sit for each other. If necessary, the rear part can be placed two children's seats.
In its current form, the main body parts are tight durable waterproof fabric that is typically used in the manufacture of various sheds. The machine weighs 320 kg In the final version the developers intend to give their offspring a body from a special lightweight plastic material that will reduce weight up to 200 kg.
The car uses an electric motor with a power of 5 kW. The maximum planned speed limit of 45 km/h, which will reduce requirements for drivers: driving the citicar will of the person allowed to ride a moped.
On one charge of the battery car can cover a distance up to 50 km, which would be sufficient for trips around town. Battery can be easily replaced, which will allow not to waste time charging it up. On the market the car is scheduled to be in summer 2017. published
