Listening is the greatest skill.
Listening is the greatest skill..
Who knows how to listen, everyone loves him. Only through hearing can a person be understood.
There are several levels of listening.
1. The lowest form is ignorance.
How often do we ignore what a child says? Ignorance is an insult to the individual. The child will close and will no longer be honest with you for life, if this type of communication will prevail in childhood. He will begin to look for other interlocutors in the yard who will understand and listen to him. Yes, he may be saying something stupid because he's still a kid, but the important thing is that relationships are more important. Then the child feels that he is important, that you love him, you know.
2. Showtime listening.
You are in a hurry, you do not have time, but you pretend that you listen so as not to offend, and you count the minutes. This level is better than ignoring, but still far from understanding.
3. Selective listening.
Your job is not to understand the person, you just listen to what you are interested in knowing. Children understand that parents know more, they are stronger, wiser, they protect, but children want to be equal in love, to feel the need. Someone needs my stupidity. That's development. It is important for children to share what is in their heart.
4. Careful listening.
This is a very good level, but there is a drawback: you listen attentively, but compare everything to yourself. It can also be called an “autobiographical hearing.” If what you hear coincides with your experience and opinion, you say “very good!”, if it does not coincide, you say “No, it is not.” You listen carefully so that at the end, as a benchmark, you can affirm your concept.

5. Listening with respect.
Recommended as a healing remedy for all ailments. You listen with the intention of understanding. You do not judge, you are not shocked by what you hear. You continue to feel compassion and love. The man speaks, and he feels good. Why is it hard to listen with compassion? You can get infected with someone’s problem. You need to learn to listen without taking on, without soaking like a lotus that stays dry in water.
