Daimler will build at least 6 of electric vehicles by 2024

Recently Daimler quite openly talked about their plans to release electric vehicles. However, as it turned out, the ambitions of the German company extends much further creating several new models of electric vehicles.

That Daimler plans to produce at least 6 serial electric vehicles by 2024, it became known thanks to a source close to the company, reports Reuters. Thus, the Germans are planning to be a serious competitor to the future Audi electric vehicles and the present leader of the production of "green" cars – Tesla.

At first glance, this confirms the seriousness of the position of the company, but without additional information about the upcoming "electric" versions of any final conclusions to do early. So, Daimler will show a new all-electric vehicle at the motor show in Paris next month, after that, you can get a better idea of the plans.

We will remind, earlier the chief brand Manager of Mercedes-Benz announced its intention to build two sedans and two SUVs. According to available information from other insiders, will focus on crossovers and SUVs, however, will make electric small cars and sedans.

Reuters also reported that Daimler creates hybrid crossover, which will run on hydrogen fuel cells and batteries. Battery charge will be enough for 50 km, which is quite a bit, but it will significantly lighten the weight of the machine by battery. Driving over 50 km will use the hydrogen.

For comparison, Volkswagen announced that by 2025 will release 30 models of all-electric car. How plausible will be the plans of two German automakers, only time will tell.published
