Express shooting destruction CD

Yesterday on the popular YouTube-channel The Slow Mo Guys Gavin and Dan posted a new video in which rapid shooting mode (also known as slow motion or just slo-mo) was removed as a broken CD while rotating at a speed of 23,000 rpm. About a day time to watch the video over a million users.

Team The Slow Mo Guys known that takes on a special camera mode fast shooting various experiments. Usually they appear different processes that occur too fast for the human perception, and therefore consider them in the usual way is not possible. Guys used to shoot Phantom Flex camera production Vision Research Phantom.

This experiment was as follows.

CD placed on a rotating spindle rotation and running at a speed of 23,000 rpm - is about five times faster than the disk rotates in the domestic DVD-player. As might be expected, after 15 seconds the disc shattered into pieces. This process is captured by the camera with a frequency of 28 500 frames per second, which is about 1140 times faster than the normal shooting.

The experiment was continued, and the destruction of the second disc has already filmed at a frequency of 61,980 frames per second. This is about 2500 times faster than normal shooting mode.

And finally, the third disc was destroyed at a rate of shooting 170600 frames per second or 6800 times faster than how the same process would be visible to the naked eye.
