Rat-engineers
A Dutch organization has been training rats, which in the future are used for demining minefields.
At the moment, the rats have already helped find hundreds of mines in Tanzania and Mozambique.
The process of training is quite complex.
The fact that the mines do not work on the weight of the rats, but rat is able to hear a click when it occurs on or in the ground of its smell.
To start with little rats taught to walk straight lines and a special roll stopper.
Over time, they gain experience and already can walk themselves and return to the person, in case of detection of mines.
Coach rats say they have experimented with many animals and rats are suitable for this purpose is much more than a dog.
