The number of victims recovered from under snow cover in the Salang Pass connecting the northern provinces of Afghanistan with the central regions of the country, has now reached 157.
On Monday and Tuesday avalanches came down from the mountains on the south side of the pass, and buried them under a hundred cars, vans and trucks.
