To fly like Superman. Flying Man is real!

Swiss flew on homemade wings with jet engines

A former Swiss military pilot Yves Rossy (Yves Rossy) made its first public flight over the Alps on homemade wings with jet engines. The experiment took place at the eastern shore of Lake Geneva, in the presence of numerous spectators and journalists, reports Associated Press.
At an altitude of about 2300 meters Russia, which were put on the two wings span up to two and a half meters, he jumped from the aircraft and, moving from free-fall mode of planning, including four jet turbines. The maximum flight speed was 300 kilometers per hour.

Rossi makes a few tricks just by managing their own bodies. According to him, until the last moment he did not know whether the flight will take place, as engineers could not fix one of the four engines.

The fuel Rossi uses jet fuel. Each engine develops a load of up to 90 kilograms, and this is enough to lift into the air of the inventor and his 55-pound flying suit.

Test flight lasted five minutes. Rossi plans to make the 35-kilometer flight between two balloons, and later this year, to fly the English Channel. The tester also wants to fly over the Grand Canyon in the United States.

In order to carry out their plans of Russia requires new, more powerful engines. The inventor hopes his unit ever go on the free market, but it is difficult to say what will be even approximate cost. In the five years since the beginning of the experiments, Rossi and his sponsors have already invested in the development of more than 285 thousand dollars.
