The photo was taken from the Kiev railway station overlooking the newcomer while the high-rise building on Smolenskaya embankment, which houses the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Smolenskaya Embankment, 1955
On the other side of the Moscow River, on Smolenskaya embankment seen the house of the architect Nikolai Ivanovich Gaygarova. To his left, between the house and a small Gaygarovskim mansion begins Flow Lane. To the left of it is now possible to see the British Embassy. On the opposite side, where he was a photographer in those days it was not yet built the waterfront, and there was only sandy beach.

From left to see the fence, behind which is the Church of the Great Ascension. The temple with a bell tower was built in 1799-1801 years. In 1812 we built a refectory and basement of the church. The building was completed in 1848, but the bell tower was never built. In late 2001, the bell tower decided to build, in connection with which a fence partially demolished.

Before the house of health education, neoclassical pattern. It was demolished in 1962 during the construction of the New Arbat. The house was the right shoe repair.
