Births in the slums
Saj - a pregnant mother of the family, preparing to give birth to another child in a slum Korail in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Sajid is living in a small, stuffy and dirty closet in Korail slum, surrounded by plants. As in most other slums, where no doctors or basic health units. Like hundreds of years ago, there is only the midwives help deliver babies. However, their qualifications under a big question, and give birth under their care is a risky business - many women die in childbirth along with her newborn. In Bangladesh, the world's highest death rate of pregnant women - 440 to 100 thousand people. It is caused by the fact that the majority of births in the country accepted unskilled and uneducated midwives.

3) March 22. Even being pregnant, Saji forced not only to work but also to perform household duties. 7) April 17th. Woman gives birth to the traditional way of this area, under the supervision of a midwife, because the money for a full medical obstetric care in a family there. Saji will give birth as well. But she believes that if God is on her side, then everything goes well, because she has already given birth to three children in the same conditions.
8) May 5th. In the light of a new inhabitant of the slum - the midwife holds a newborn baby boy and exhausted Saji is nearby. Family financial situation only worsened during her pregnancy, Sajjil even had a few days to starve. But despite this, she diligently complied with all the recommendations and bans midwife. Finally, in due time she gave birth to a healthy baby boy in the care of the same grandmother, without any modern instruments and drugs. For many it's hard to believe, but an hour later she left her own midwife on foot with a newborn baby in her arms.
