Conversion: the use of former missile hangars

Near the village Minojty in Grodno region until 1997 it housed a secret military base, where he kept the missiles with nuclear warheads. After the dissolution of the military unit of Belarusian entrepreneurs took the vacated space for rent and opened the farm to grow oyster mushrooms.

Experts claim that in the hangars, where they grow mushrooms, background radiation is now even lower than in nearby towns. The company "Ekogriby" organized complete production cycle - from the preparation of the soil before the growing mycelium. The former command bunker is equipped with a laboratory.

The farm supplies monthly trading networks of Belarus and neighboring countries, 10 thousand tons of mushrooms. They cost 23 thousand Belarusian rubles (2, 7 dollars) per kilogram. The harvest is collected here almost every day.

Oyster mushrooms are very nutritious, high-yield and require minimal maintenance. They are grown on sawdust or cereal straw.
