The organization creates MDIF free network Outernet

On Monday, the organization MDIF announced a new global network for Internet access. The project was named «Outernet» and involves placing tiny Earth orbit satellites CubeSats, covering a network of free Wi-FI all continents.





Founded director of innovation MDIF Syed Karim, Outernet will use the network of small satellites for the transmission of Internet data - audio, video, text, and applications - to any Wi-Fi enabled device, including mobile phones, anywhere in the world and completely free.

We begin to truly revolutionary project - says MDIF CEO Harlan Mandel, - Outernet will bypass censorship, ensure confidentiality and worldwide access to information for everyone, including those who are located outside the geographical reach of the Internet, or simply can not afford it.

The project to place in low Earth orbit hundreds of cheap, miniature satellites, each of which will receive data from ground stations and continuously transmit their clients. For these purposes will be used by the UDP protocol over Wi-Fi. However, it is still unclear how this bundle is justified, especially if we are talking about one recipient.
