Street Fashion Tokyo - photoshoot by Thomas C. Karda
Photographer from New York, Thomas K. Card 3 years gathering a collection of photos of trendy girls and women from Japan. At first he only photographed dressed in the style of anime and cosplay girls, and then realized that so many people dress up, even old ladies. I decided to work on his project. In total, he collected 132 photos and just a week ago posted some pictures on the Internet.
All photos were collected and published in the book "Decorated Tokyo." Women seem strange and grotesque puppet. But it is a harsh reality. Many love cartoons, someone runs into his childhood, someone follows the traditions, believing that women over 25 have nothing to do in the world of love, and we must by all means young.
In the book, I gathered neon, pastel, bright bows. It traces the fashion going on the heels of the elusive youth. In fact, this time slice from young models to models imitators.
Among other models noted by style icon Kumamiki Japanese model, and some of the girls photographed in the clothes of famous Japanese designers. It should be noted that collecting photographs mostly images of bright and impressive, but not too casually, so it turned out brightly and deliberately glamorous. This in Japan is considered beauty.
Photographer believes that Japan began to revive sharply after the earthquake in 2011, and these trends are reflected in fashion. People just started to breathe life freely.
The book contains a short essay psychologist Samantha Boardman, who writes about the psychological impact on the style of the environment. Here is a direct quote from the book:
Persons in these photos literally present their universe. Each of them.
But other opinions about the book read as Thomas:
A compelling photo essay encourages constantly question their evaluation and the Audience Award. This is a real style or madness? Really really can be worn on the head pan and believe it is fashionable? But this girl? She is prone to suicide or vice versa serenely happy? There is something to think about!
