In July 1941, the military came to Moscow photojournalist American magazine «Life» Margaret Bourke-White. She worked in the unique conditions: with the advent of war mode to shoot in Moscow strongly tightened for unauthorized recording, as well as for not handed over the camera, relied tribunal. But in the Kremlin in those days preparing for the important negotiations with the United States to Moscow was supposed to arrive a personal friend and confidant of President Roosevelt, and Margaret got permission to shoot images belligerent Soviet Union ... The Soviet leadership decided that such images in the prestigious journal profitable transatlantic USSR present the American public.
