Last Flight "Discovery" (7 photos)

Space shuttle "Discovery" was successfully launched yesterday at the Kennedy spaceport in Florida. After repeated transfers start time (the ship took place on the launch pad September 21) the shuttle finally went to his 39th and final flight into space.

Crew "Discovery" will deliver to the ISS equipment and materials via the transport module "Leonardo" and Experimental Transport Platform Express Logistics Carrier 4. «Leonardo", which was launched into space for the sixth time remain permanently docked to the ISS and will be used as additional storage space.

Together with the crew "Discovery" to the ISS went and Robonaut 2 - a special robot, which is expected to be able to perform various operations in the open space, replacing a human. In total during the 11-day mission provides two outputs of the crew into space.
