Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker - jet chetyrёhdvigatelny specialized multifunctional military transport aircraft / aircraft tanker, designed in the early 1950s.
first prototype Serial KC-135, based at 367-80 and design elements 707th flew in August 1956. Shipments to the Strategic Air Command (SAC) USAF air base Castle in California began in June 1957. Based on the KC-135 had been created by their various modifications: intelligence, reconnaissance radio-electronic means enemy reconnaissance weather, the aircraft for research, aerial command posts, control and communications with strategic nuclear forces - ICBMs, submarines with SLBMs, bombers in case of destruction of ground command points in a nuclear war, transportation command of US forces. Currently, KC-135 and its various military and research modifications continue to fly and will fly presumably until 2040.
