Supersonic barrier in photos
When breaking the sound barrier sound emitted over a long period of time, it appears to the listener on earth compressed into one brief moment, and it is perceived as a sonic boom. Before the moment the plane breaking the sound barrier sometimes creates a very unusual cloud, the origin of which is still not entirely clear. According to the most popular hypothesis, the cause of this phenomenon is the pressure drop - the so-called Prandtl-Glauert singularity - and the subsequent condensation of water droplets from humid air.
