The opening of the Russian Antique Salon



Today in Moscow's Central House of Artists opened XXXI Russian Antique Salon - one of the most significant and prestigious event on the domestic antique market. During the six years of the salon offer radically expanded. More and more take place in the exhibition of foreign art, both western and eastern represented around thematic diversity - from archaeological artifacts to paintings by old masters and modernist trends of the twentieth century. At the exhibition the latest salons markedly improved the quality of the selection of collectible works of traditional Russian hands of the XIX century. Emphasis is placed on other trends in recent years: attention to the Russian artistic exile, significant works of Soviet art 1930-1960's and increase the representation of applied art. Antique Salon in the framework of non-profit projects in this season will present the exhibition "Empire - style two emperors." The exhibition aims to show the splendor of the Empire - style, created by renowned artists and craftsmen in the first decades of the nineteenth century. Porcelain and bronze, furniture art and paintings create a sense of the objective world, which created the JL David Sh.Perse, P.Fonten and their followers in Russia and France. At the same time it will be a lot of interest and a number of unique items of previous years, which would be a preamble to the main exhibition. This will give the opportunity to feel the novelty that brought the artists in classical art during the reign of Napoleon and Alexander I.
