French sailors on the trimaran Banque Populaire V set a new world record in the world tour on a sailing ship. A team of 14 people headed by Captain Loïc Peyron circled the globe in 45 days 13 hours 42 minutes and 53 seconds, improving the previous achievement of almost three days. The yacht has overcome more than 27 thousand nautical miles at an average speed of about 26 knots.
