The former Soviet cruise ship Lyubov Orlova, having changed several owners, was abandoned.
And now it is drifting in the Atlantic at the behest of ocean currents.




The vessel, built for the USSR in the late 70s, was sold abroad, then arrested for debts in Canada and eventually sent for scrap metal to the Dominican Republic. But on the way there, the tug's cables broke due to a storm, and the Lyubov Orlova turned into a ghost ship without a crew and detection systems.



One and a half thousand kilometers off the coast of Northern Ireland, it was discovered by the American National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency with the help of radar. According to some forecasts, in a few days the ship may be thrown ashore. According to others, it will be in free float for a long time.







Meanwhile, the fate of the ship caused a stormy reaction on the Internet - there was even a website called "Where is Lyubov Orlova?" Users are trying to track the ship's movements and make assumptions about what to do with it. There are even calls to form a new state on a drifting vessel.
