Morpheus successfully come test

Project Morpheus was first voiced by NASA in July 2010 - it is a reusable device for vertical take-off and landing automatically to other planets and (or) asteroids, and with a certain degree of security provided by a specially designed technology Autonomous Landing and Hazard Avoidance Technology (ALHAT).

December 10 project team of engineers conducted the first successful field trials Morpheus, during which the unit was successfully launched from the surface of the special area, reached a height of about 15 meters, began lateral movement and landed without problems at another point, located at 7 meters from the starting point. The whole flight took less than a minute.

The apparent ease of the task (testing still occurs in terrestrial conditions) should not be misleading: in August last year during a similar test in one of the ancestors of the machine refused inertial navigation system, the result of which can be seen in the photo below:
