DARPA in collaboration with Sandia National Laboratories are working on a project of the arm, with stunning precision fine manipulation, for example, that will raise the key from the table, or insert the batteries in the flashlight. The arm has a modular design consisting of individual fingers that can be quickly replaced by a specialized tool. Control is done using a special glove. Development is primarily oriented to the remote defusing explosive devices.
