Rock Cockerel

representative family cotinga - rocky rooster - a very funny-looking bird. It has nothing to do with the usual for us roosters, its closest relatives are the tyrant flycatcher flycatcher and manakin.

In nature, there are two subspecies of rock cockerels (Andean and Guiana), which differ in minor details of plumage. The main feature of those and others - a small arc-shaped ridge on the head, covered with feathers. It extends from the neck to the strong beak and almost completely covers it, giving the impression gorba.

These birds live in tropical and subtropical latitudes of the Andes from Venezuela to Bolivii.
