Paper birds from Anna-Wili Highfield

It is interesting to observe how from something banal and dull, such as old unwanted magazines and newspapers, it turns what could be called art. Australian artist named Anna-Wili Highfield does handicraft their docile birds because of this unpretentious material. The result is a sculpture, brilliant in its simplicity.

Unlike other masters paper art, Anna Wiley Highfield (Anna-Wili Highfield) works somewhat casually, making it work like an outline, blank something broader. There are sculptures of some innuendo, but perhaps this is the phenomenon of their charm.

Most of the artist likes to create paper birds. From scraps of paper she had obtained a whole pack of a variety of birds and very rarely are images of local, Australian birds. So, we do not find among any paper sculptures kiwi bird or ostriches, but the starlings, owls, crows and sparrows are present in abundance.
