Oceanarium at the Maritime Museum in Stralsund
In mid-July in the German city of Stralsund (Stralsund) opened a modern aquarium, which is recognized as one of the largest in Europe.
Construction Oceanarium cost about 60 million euros went on for almost three years. The complex consists of 39 giant aquariums to fill them at the initial stage it took more than 2, 5 million liters of water.
In aquariums aquarium are presented about seven thousand fish, crabs and other marine life a hundred different types of Baltic and North Seas, as well as the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans. Visitors can observe marine life through the windows of a special glass with a thickness of 34 cm. It is assumed that each year the new aquarium will visit more than 550 thousand people.
