How to make a mosquito trap from a plastic bottle

Insects cause a lot of problems in the summer. They spoil the rest, interfere with eating sweet fruits and pursue a person when he decided to use perfume with a pungent smell. Mosquitoes are especially annoying, which can spoil even the most pleasant gatherings with family in nature. So we believe that bottle-trapThe one we're going to show you today might be great.

To catch flying insects do not have to invent an unprecedented design. Usually, even one plastic bottle is enough. But we decided that the design of two bottles will be much more functional and it will be easy to use at least all summer.

We recommend taking two-liter bottles. Cut the bottom third off the first bottle. Cut off the top third of the second bottle and insert it inverted into the first bottle. It should be as simple as the picture.

Also make sure that the structure can be hung in places where unwanted insects, for example, in the garden. To do this, make a hole in the first bottle for hooks or thread. Although you can put the design in another vessel, if you are satisfied with this option.

What are we going to do to attract mosquitoes? The ingredients
  • 0.5 tbsp sweet jam
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 50g live yeast

Instructions
  1. Add to the first bottle (with cut off the bottom) jam and yeast. Add water and stir.

  2. Put the second part of the structure (cut top). Put the hook in and hang in the right place.
  3. At the end, wrap the structure with foil or paper so that it is dark inside the bottle – this will make the mosquito trap an even more attractive place.

In the process of fermentation, carbon dioxide will be released, which will attract annoying mosquitoes. The fact is that mosquitoes find their prey (humans or animals) just by emitting CO2.

To give battle and mosquitoes, and flies, and even wasps, you can use other products. For this purpose, beer is suitable. You can use kvass, though. Moreover, the design of two bottles is exactly the same as in the case of jam and yeast.

Pour beer (or kvass) into the first bottle. Dilute it with water. You can add another drink for better fermentation (for example, wine), and collect the design. The liquid in the sun will quickly sour, which will lead to the release of carbon dioxide.

Now let the traps work. From time to time, you can check the results to see how effective such devices are in your area. Do not forget to cover the traps in case of rain, so that they do not flood with water.

A week later, we checked our catch. There were no wasps trapped with beer and wine. But mosquitoes, ants and flies were a lot. Alcoholic mixture was this insect to the liking. But they didn't expect a catch.

There were a lot of mosquitoes trapped with yeast. In general, the experiment can be considered successful. There's only one left. refresh the contents of the trapsTo get rid of the next batch of annoying insects in the country.
