Kitty Hawk Flyer: the flying "car" from Larry page
Already a year has passed since the moment when appeared first information about the creation of the Executive Director of Google Larry page startup for the development of a flying car. And now for the first time there was video of the current prototype, which is more like a passenger drone.
All-electric machine received the name Kitty Hawk Flyer. In the presented video shows flying over the lake, quadcopter, capable of carrying one person. Apparently this is the first car modification, which is intended more for leisure flights than for use as a practical vehicle. One way or another, "Flyer" has overcome its first regulatory hurdle and received permission to fly "not densely populated areas."
According to the classification of the FFA, the aircraft were assigned to the type of ultralight. And according to the manufacturer, it does not require a pilot license and to learn management skills they will be able to find anyone for several minutes.
"We always wanted to be able to fly effortlessly. I am very glad that one day, which is very close, I can get up on your Flyer Kitty Hawk for fast and easy private flight," said Paige in an interview with the new York times.
As noted in Kitty Hawk, this fully electric version of the copter was designed specifically to fly over water. However, the developers say that commercial model, which is expected to go on sale by the end of this year, may undergo significant changes in terms of design and technical specifications, which generally is not reported.
"The feeling that you are moving on a flying motorcycle. You sit on the seat and lean forward like on a bike. The controls built into the steering wheel and work like buttons and joysticks on the controller of the video game. It takes off and lands vertically like a helicopter. But unlike a helicopter, Flyer 100% electric and is propelled by eight rotors," says Cimarron Morrissey, which was fortunate one of the first to test the quadcopter. On the company's website reported that everyone now can become participants of the project. For this you will need to invest 100 dollars, which later will allow you to obtain a discount of $ 2,000 on the first models of flying machines. Also the first enthusiasts will get exclusive access to a demonstration flight, and some of them will get a chance to ride on "the Flyer". published
P. S. And remember, only by changing their consumption — together we change the world! ©
