Winter has officially arrived and everyone who has access to snowdrifts and mountains can start preparing for an active pastime. After all, Snolosleds plans to release its new product, created specifically for her New Zealand design studio 4DESIGN.
This is a super-light and super-strong monocoque snowball sled called Stealth-X. Their increased lightness and strength are explained by the fact that these sleds are completely made of carbon fiber, which is deservedly popular at present.
The user of these sleds can fully feel like a racer participating in Formula 1 competitions, because these sleds not only assume the most convenient for maneuvering landing as in a sports car, but are also capable of developing an impressive speed for this type of transport - 65 km / h. The development of such a maximum speed is ensured by very low grip and high-quality aerodynamics, unlike traditional sled models, where the speed parameters are directly related to the low weight of the structure.
Also, Stealth-X sleds are able to remind motorcyclists of their summer friend, since they are controlled like on a motorcycle: when cornering, the riders must bend over. And stopping and braking are carried out in the same way as on snowboard.
Of the additional advantages of the sled can be noted their rather compact dimensions (the dimensions of the main unit are 858 mm (length) x 494 mm (width) x 250 mm (height), and the front skis - 692 mm (length) x 180 mm (width)), as well as the fact that they can easily be folded and placed on the back like a backpack. Moreover, their weight is only about 4 kg, so it is not difficult to climb the highest mountain with them.
Another good news about these sleds for adults is the fact that the start of sales is scheduled by the manufacturer on December 7 at a fairly adult price of $ 2,999. A plastic version is also planned for family use.
