Home appliances can be controlled with gestures

The interest of large electronics manufacturers in gesture control technologies suggests that the future, when a person can start a microwave oven or turn on the TV in one stroke, is already approaching. In addition, next year, it is quite possible that this technology will open up to the public. It has been developed by PointGrab for more than 3 years.

The new development will make it possible to control household appliances and other electronic devices using conventional gestures. PointGrab already has achievements in this area: the company has already implemented its developments in some laptops, to manage which you just need to bring your hands to the webcam.

The first video shows the PintSwitch device, which will allow you to control household functions: lower the curtains, increase or decrease the brightness of the light bulb, change the mode of operation of the air conditioner, open or close the front door. The second video presents opportunities for interaction with a computer and a “smart” TV.

With Wi-Fi, you can peek through walls.
