Astronomers have discovered rare phenomenon – cosmic river

A few scientists-astronomers from the University of West Virginia with a telescope GBT (Green Bank Telescope), which is at the disposal of the American research Foundation, found what has eluded people. It is something — a kind of cosmic river, which consists of a stream of cold hydrogen gas flowing through empty interstellar space.

This rather weak "thread", which consists of rarefied gas flows within the galaxy NGC 6946 from a neighboring galaxy, and this finding can help researchers to explain how certain spiral galaxies form is maintained at a high level stable the process of forming new stars.
