Sleep disorders can be associated with disease of the brain

Researchers at the University of Toronto said that the sleep disorder is a predictor of brain diseases like Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease.

As said auto research John power: "Rapid eye movement during sleep is not only a predecessor,

but the most important warning sign of neurodegeneration that lead to disorders of the brain.

It is important for clinicians to recognize these eye movements as a potential indication of brain disease to diagnose patients at an early stage".

Studies examine the idea that neurodegenerative changes first affect areas of the brain

that control sleep before attacking those areas that cause more common brain diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. Piver hopes that his research will lead to earlier and more effective treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.
