How to make eco-graffiti from moss

The idea of making lively, eco-friendly, breathable graffiti was an exciting solution for graffiti artists. It is often called eco-graffiti or green graffiti. Here, paint, markers or other similar toxic chemicals are replaced by moss, which can grow on its own. This direction can be considered another form of guerrilla gardening.

So, how to make graffiti from moss:

Ingredient:
  • 1-2 handfuls of mosses
  • 1 jar of natural yogurt (without additives), or a can of beer
  • 1 spoonful of sugar
  • plastic
  • blender
  • brush
Go outside and find moss on a tree, collect and rinse it. Insert it into a blender, and add yogurt (or beer) and sugar to it and whip until the mixture reaches a pleasant creamy consistency. Pour the mixture into a plastic container or any other vessel, and apply a brush to the surface (north of the wall).

Once you have found a wet and shady section of the wall, you can start painting your moss graffiti. Depending on the design, you can use a stencil or draw by hand. Either way, you’ll need to apply the mixture and then return to the place again and again to make sure it stays moist. Eventually, the moss will reconstitute and grow.
