The UK will become Europe's largest solar energy market

The United Kingdom will be Europe's largest solar energy market this year, displacing Germany, thanks to the rapid growth of solar farms on its territory — said the Agency engaged in the exploration of the solar market.

More than 120 large-scale solar power plants were approved for construction in the UK, and many of them intend to complete the construction within the next 12 months — the report of the consulting company NPD Solarbuzz.

The UK government has set the goal of 20 gigawatts of cumulative solar capacity by 2020, of which solar farm will provide most of the capacitance.

China, Japan and the United States was the largest solar markets in 2013, followed by Germany and was completed by five of the UK, according to a March research note from NPD Solarbuzz. Analysts said that they expected a shift of solar activity to Asia, as the market for PV in India and Thailand is growing rapidly.

Some Chinese manufacturers of solar components, announced that in the first quarter of this year they expect to sell fewer solar modules than they predicted earlier, blaming around seasonality and inherent volatility of a companies stock.

Analysts surveyed by company FactSet expect SolarCity will report an adjusted net loss of 71 cents a share, compared with an adjusted loss of 41 cents in the same period last year. Assumes that the company will report about the loss of $59 million, compared with a loss of $31 million in the first quarter of 2013.

The company announced in late February that apparently it will install less solar panels because of the serious deterioration of the weather in the winter.

In addition, SolarCity has also delayed the publication of the report of financial results for the fourth quarter twice already this year, in connection with the accounting errors.
