Double starfish
This unusual sea star, as if consisting of two superimposed on each other pentagons, lives in the warm waters of the Pacific and Indian oceans.
Double sea star (lat. Iconaster longimanus) coexists perfectly with the coral reefs and their inhabitants off the coast of Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Western Australia.
The impression of stvennosti created by brown Pentagon with a diameter of about 10 cm, located in the center and framed similar to the mosaic plates of the external drive. The very same external drive width of about 30 cm continues the five long flat beams, which serve as tentacles.
Double starfish do not adhere to a certain depth and feel as at a depth of 6 metres and going down to 80 meters below. Their main food is small invertebrates like bryozoans, sponges and tunicates.
Unlike most other species, the double starfish lay large eggs, from which are born fully formed little stars.
