In Turkmenistan the Institute of solar energy

Despite the fact that Turkmenistan, as the holder of the fourth natural gas reserve in the world, no problem with natural sources of energy, the government announced the production of silicon semiconductors and heliconias how about the priority tasks of science and industry. On the basis of the Academy of Sciences it was decided to create a separate Institute of solar energy.

As noted in the President signed the decree, this institution should serve as to explore the possible capacities of renewable energy sources and for future implementation in practice of innovative research.

The Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan emphasize: as heliconias and silicon semiconductors are actively gaining market share in the country just need to create a structure that would detail mobilizing to eliminate the backlog in the industry.

This means that in Turkmenistan in a short time you may receive a "solar power". Indeed, in the country there are all prerequisites. The duration of the light day in the middle of summer in the region is 16 hours per year hours of sunshine is incident to three thousand.

Turkmen scientists estimate that the energy of the sunlight falling on 1 sq. m, is 800 watts. Therefore, it is enough to create a network of solar power plants that would ensure the organization of living conditions in some areas.

To priority consumers are professionals who master the Karakum desert: geologists, staff of weather stations, shepherds, etc. Clean inexhaustible energy of the sun will allow to receive electrical power and to provide water to hundreds of people. It will also create a modern desalination plant and wind-solar systems for the needs of the local livestock.

In addition the plan of scientists is a study aimed at obtaining in quartz sand of the Karakum and technical silicon. If the experiment with natural sand will do, it will significantly reduce the cost of production of solar panels.

Some samples of silicon semiconductors, the scientists have managed to obtain from the local Karakum sand. Therefore this area with experts is considered to be quite promising. It is not excluded that this type of solar panels because of their uniqueness will be in great demand in other States.

However, the Institute will not only solar, but other renewable energy. In particular, it will be created new projects of wind turbines since the average wind speed in Turkmenistan allows to use the wind as a permanent power sources. For example, experimental wind power plant with the capacity of 5 kW is already created and successfully operates, providing electricity to the whole school.
