888 thousand poppies in memory of the events of the First world war

888 thousand and 246 ceramic poppies was necessary in order to create this installation in memory of the terrible events of the First world war, which began 100 years ago. Poppies fill the dry moat of the tower of London by artist Paul Cummins and stage designer Tom Piper. Built all with the help of volunteers and the last flower will be symbolically conferred on November 11, remembrance Day.
