Named the main threat to human life
The number of deaths from air pollution and disease in 2013 was more than 6 million. These are mainly Third World and Southeast Asian countries. According to the WHO, the level of particularly dangerous air pollution has reached a peak in India and China.
Experts of the World Health Organization believe that local authorities in these countries are ineffective in protecting the environment. According to a WHO study, air quality in Beijing reached a critical level of pollution last year. The level was so high that experts advised children and the elderly not to leave their homes.
