Archaeologists have discovered an ancient farm right in the center of Israel

A group of archaeologists during excavations in Israel discovered a farm age of 2800 years. The farm is well preserved and contains a huge number of valuable objects that can tell a lot about the distant past.

Discovered by archaeologists, the farm is a building with an area of approx 30 to 40 meters, inside which are very tight are 23 separate rooms, each of which performs an important role in the life of this place. Here there is storage for grain, a wine press, and much, much more.

The structure was discovered during excavations, which were initiated by the Israeli authorities. These excavations were common prior to the next city development. But as the farm is a great interest for researchers, authorities will have to find a new place for construction.

The farm dates back to the times of the Assyrian conquest, when the Assyrians conquered Northern Israel.

"At that time the farm served as a room where local residents participated in the processing of agricultural products, — said the head of the excavations Amit Shadman, And numerous wine presses indicate that winemaking at that time was a very important part of agriculture in the region. Large storage of grain demonstrates the fact that even then the people of ancient Israel actively cultivated crops".

This is not the first time when archaeologists stumbled upon the ancient tools for wine production. In September of this year, they found a wine press age 1500 years under the streets of tel Aviv. But discovered in the Israeli press are much more ancient than previous findings.

Ancient people continued to use the farm in the 6th century BC when the Jews returned to Israel after the Babylonian captivity. The structure remained active in the Hellenistic period, which lasted from the time of the death of Alexander the great (323 BC) to the final establishment of Roman rule in these territories.

The fact of the presence in the region the ancient Greeks clearly shows the coin with the image of Hercules on one side and Zeus on the reverse, which is about 2800 years.

Since the XIII century, local residents began to dismantle the farm building to use the stones as building material for new buildings. Fortunately, the entire farm fully dismantled, leaving a large part of the joy of the descendants and archaeologists of the future.

The Israel antiquities authority plans to save this building and after some time open it to the public.
