Australia launched its first wave power station feeding electricity to the grid

For generating energy used buoys, oscillating up and down with each wave, driving the underwater pump which pushes high pressure water to shore where it turns turbine generators, producing electricity. Soon Carnegie wave power plant will also begin production of fresh water using wave energy to obtain fresh water without the use of external energy sources.

In the company-the developer noted that the wave as an energy source, has advantage: it is more consistent and predictable than for instance wind energy. Moreover water takes up less space. Because it is 800 times denser than air, and has a high energy potential, a small wave power plant can produce the same amount of energy as a large array of solar panels.

Technology Carnegie is unique in that it is completely submerged. In the next few months, the power plant will be increased to 1 MW of electricity. published
