NASA has put people on a year to simulate a landing on Mars

A group of six people recently said goodbye to loved ones, to take part in a new NASA project for the colonization of Mars. No, team members don't leave the Earth - instead they will be locked in a confined space for a year.

The experiment will be conducted in the crater of Mauna Loa (Mauna Loa) in Hawaii. The project involves astrobiologist French, German physicist and an American pilot, an architect, a doctor and a scientist. They all agreed to a long imprisonment, to simulate a manned mission to the Red planet, which may take up to three years. They will all live in a HI-SEAS with a width of 13 meters, a height of 6.5. Each of the team members will have a private small room where you can sleep and work; outside can only go in the suit. Also, the participants of the experiment will be to eat only simple foods like canned tuna or cheese powder.

This is not the first pseudo-mission to Mars: previously, two groups lived in a confined space for four and eight months respectively. The project must answer important questions: “What is the psychological condition of the group, which for a long time will communicate only with a limited circle of people? What conflicts may arise between team members?”

The author of the experiment Kim Binsted said: “One of the conclusions that we did, for a long time watching the participants of the project – conflicts cannot be overcome, if a long time to live in a confined space. This happens even with the nicest people. The main thing that people have learned to solve all the problems and continue to perform team tasks. published

P. S. And remember, only by changing their consumption — together we change the world! ©
