LEED in the suburbs

Recently opened in Moscow the Centre for research and development of the company Wetonit group Saint-Gobain claims to get the LEED GREEN.

The laboratory building is on two floors and covers an area of 1000 sq. m. the construction of the Centre was used environmentally-friendly and resource-efficient technologies, which allows him to qualify for the prestigious certificate.

The total cost of the building is 97 million rubles, while the additional costs of energy-efficient equipment and green building materials was 15%.

In accordance with the provisional certification of the design documentation, the Center may get 57 points out of 110 (LEED Silver level). After the building effect, the experts measure the real consumption of energy and water, indicators of microclimate, documentary evidence of compliance with all environmental and construction requirements. Only after this examination, the Center will receive a certificate of completion.

Reducing energy consumption of the building will be achieved through high efficiency heating gas-fired boiler, heat recovery, automatic modes of operation (day-night), led lighting, motion sensors and economical lifts.

Special plumbing in the Centre itself saves water: here installed waterless urinals, faucets with sensors and aerators. Lawns in the surrounding area will be watered with collected rain. These technologies will reduce the consumption of potable water by 50% compared to conventional buildings. published
